Department and Graduate School of Accounting Information
The Focus and Feature of Development
Based on the Department’s tradition, practical accounting techniques as well as theoretical concepts are emphasized. In order to implement the core value of technical and vocational education and to enhance students’ employability and competitiveness, the students are required to get professional licenses and certifications in accounting or information systems and to perform the 320-hour internship under supervision in the off-campus workplaces during sophomore’s summer vacation. In addition, the senior students are required to execute 4.5-month internship during the final semester, with the expectation to keep the job after graduation. To meet the needs of students’ diverse learning objectives and career planning, the outstanding alumni, experts in the field and officers in governmental agencies are frequently invited to give speeches and share their experiences at seminars or workshop organized by the Department. Our faculty members almost have practical experience in industries, CPA firms, or Governmental agencies and own professional licenses or certifications, like CPA, CIA, ERP Application Engineer or Planner, as well as Certified (Senior) Securities Specialist, etc. They are expected and encouraged to enhance their research capability, cooperate with the industries, and combine teaching with the accounting practice to prepare students for future job competence. |

Teaching Environment and Curriculum
In the Department’s qualify teaching environment, hardware devices and professional software are arranged in featured professional classroom, donated by alumni, as follows: (1) One single gun projector, one curtain, 57 computers, network servers, computer network broadcasting system, reduction cards installed in all computers to facilitate teachers’ teaching and students’ thematic reports. (2) ASDC ERP system and accounting packages are utilized in primary accounting, accounting information systems, cost accounting, ERP and thematic courses. (3) Statistical professional software, like SPSS, SAS, and SuperLab Pro, is provided to facilitate related courses as statistics and regression analysis. Also, each classroom, managed by the Department, is well equipped with computer and projector to provide instant e-learning assistance. The primary curriculum of the Department can be divided into four different concentrations (accounting, finance, taxation, and information systems) to help students gather comprehensive learning in accounting profession. Besides, students’ foreign language skills and professional ethics are emphasized. In order to establish students’ broad knowledge of business environment or information analysis, the Department offers various elective courses, like Internet Application, Securities Exchange Code, Micro-economy, and Macro-economy, etc. |
